Dog profiles

Experience, speed and big personalities

Bamse

Born

  • Norwegian champion
  • Experienced
  • Fair-minded

Bamse joined us in 2024 after running in Ove Grytbakk’s team. His achievements include nothing less than a Norwegian Championship victory. He is fair, always cheerful and brimming with experience – a dog we truly value. At home in the kennel, he is strict but fair. Since joining us, he has completed every race: Gruveløpet and Femundløpet 2025, followed by Mush Synnfjell, Gruveløpet and Femund 450 in 2026.

Hardy

Born

  • Powerhouse
  • Workhorse
  • Lovably dramatic

Hardy joined us from Cato Myhre in 2024. He is as strong as a bear and could probably pull the entire outfit to the finish on his own. His capacity for work is exceptional, and his personality is dramatic, demanding and charming in equal measure. During breaks, he stretches out and plays dead, no matter how long the run has been. When the team is ready to leave, he has a brief burst of pure excitement before finding his feet and getting the job done. At the kennel, he loves following his person everywhere. An incredibly pleasant dog.

Alice

Born

  • Experienced leader
  • Race dog
  • Back in training

Alice is an experienced lead dog who joined us from Team Sommerhøgda in 2023. Since then, she has led the team through countless snowstorms, river crossings and other challenges. She works well in training but finds another gear on race day, making her a dog we can rely on when conditions get tough. After a difficult delivery in 2025, she sat out the 2026 season. She is now back in training and looking good, which makes us incredibly happy. With us, she has completed every race in lead: Femundløpet and Gruveløpet 2024, and Gruveløpet and Femundløpet 2025.

Sage

Born

  • Workhorse
  • Lead dog
  • Infectious spirit

Sage joined us in 2025. Like his brother Hardy, he is an exceptional workhorse with tremendous strength. Sage works well in lead and also has a wonderfully infectious spirit. We have yet to see him tired. Since joining us, he has completed Mush Synnfjell, Gruveløpet and Femund 450 in 2026.

Skogens Kamik

Born

  • Main leader
  • Command leader
  • Calm power

Kamik is the team’s undisputed leader and also excels in single lead. Away from the trail, he is calm and rests whenever he can, but when it matters, he has an incredible engine. He is a highly capable command leader and has crossed the finish line in lead in every race: Rørosløpet 2023; Mush Synnfjell, Gruveløpet and Femundløpet 2024; Gruveløpet and Femundløpet 2025; and Gruveløpet, Mush Synnfjell and Femund 450 in 2026.

Skogens Balto

Born

  • Lead dog
  • Everyone’s friend
  • Proven finisher

Balto joined the kennel at two years old after beginning his career in a sled-tour kennel. He was a cheerful character from day one and was known as “Circus Balto” during those first two years. Since then, he has matured into one of our most important leaders. He is exceptionally friendly and gets along with absolutely everyone. Balto has completed every race he has entered: Mush Synnfjell and Femundløpet 2024, Gruveløpet and Femundløpet 2025, and Gruveløpet and Mush Synnfjell 2026.

Skogens Solo

Born

  • Lead dog
  • Speed enthusiast
  • Small but strong

Solo joined us as a small puppy and has grown into a true speed enthusiast who loves life in the team. She continues to develop as a lead dog, and despite her modest size, she is both strong and fast – a wonderful mix of turbo power and determination. In 2026, she truly showed what she is capable of, delivering strong performances and plenty of racing spirit at Mush Synnfjell, Gruveløpet and Femund 450.

Skogens Emil

Born

  • Working dog
  • Powerful build
  • Reliable

Emil joined us as a puppy and took a little time to grow up. With all his mischief and antics, he certainly lives up to his name, and it took time for him to settle and find his place in the team. The work and training have been well worth it. Today, Emil is one of our most important dogs, with outstanding physical strength and rock-solid reliability. He has completed every race he has entered: Mush Synnfjell, Gruveløpet and Femund 450 in 2026.

Trollhuskys Solan

Born

  • Lead prospect
  • In rehabilitation
  • Cheerful and friendly

Solan was bred in our own kennel. At one year old, he suffered a fracture in a front leg. The injury has affected him more than we had hoped, and his rehabilitation has been a long process with a few setbacks along the way. We see many strong qualities in Solan and truly hope he can take part this season. He is a promising lead dog as well as an exceptionally cheerful and friendly companion.

Skogens Kompis

Born

  • Versatile
  • Dependable
  • Little rascal

Kompis truly lives up to his name: he is a friend you can always count on. He works well and can run in most positions. He never makes a fuss, but we certainly notice when he is not there. We have discovered that he is a little rascal, but his innocent expression lets him get away with almost anything. Kompis has completed everything he has taken part in: Gruveløpet and Femundløpet in 2025, followed by Mush, Gruveløpet and Femund 450 in 2026.

Trollhuskys Togo

Born

  • Home-bred
  • Lead debut
  • Chasing speed

Togo was bred in our own kennel and is both hardworking and cheerful. He throws himself into every task as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Togo has not raced yet, but we are incredibly excited for him to join the main team this season. He has already made a very successful debut in lead. Togo is always chasing speed.

Teddy

Born

  • Young dog
  • First season
  • Strong in harness

Teddy is in his first season as a sled dog. Like the other two young dogs, he follows an adapted training programme where positive experiences are the highest priority. Teddy works extremely well in harness and is also a friendly, entertaining character. He is sired by Ludvik.

Vidda was born in 2026 and comes from Team Sørlie. She is a happy, cheerful little girl – just as a puppy should be. We look forward to following her journey.

Trollhuskys Ludvik

Bred in our kennel

  • Lead dog
  • Command-responsive
  • Chasing speed

Ludvik was bred in our own kennel. He made his Femundløpet debut in 2025, when he was almost two years old. During the 2026 season, he ran all three races in lead. Ludvik is always chasing speed, responds well to commands and is becoming a better leader all the time. The older dogs have given him valuable, confidence-building experience in lead, and it has paid off. During Femund 450, he ran in lead for much of the race and remained steady through surface water and other challenges. At the kennel, he is very affectionate, and he is a genuinely pleasant companion out on the trail.

  • Home-bred
  • Main team
  • Hardworking

Føyke is two years old and was bred in our own kennel. She has not raced yet, but we are looking forward to having her in the main team this season. Føyke is cheerful, hardworking and friendly, just like her siblings Togo, Solveig and Timmi.

  • Back at the kennel
  • Home-bred
  • Friendly

Timmi has just returned to the kennel. He was bred in our own kennel, but spent two years with Team Smistua before coming home. Timmi is a friendly, cheerful fellow, and we are now getting to know him all over again.

Trollhuskys Solveig

2 years old · Photo coming

  • Lead training
  • Determined
  • Loves attention

Solveig is two years old. She has not raced yet, but will join the main team this year. She has had a chance to try running in lead, which she is delighted about. She is also a determined young lady who knows exactly how she wants things. They tend to work out just as she planned, without her making a fuss about it. Solveig loves affection and attention from anyone who happens to pass by.
